Palawan, El Nido

Dear reader. Die Island group of Palawan ist always Worth your travel. Like I described in the Part for Coron: Crystal clear water, still very clean, moderately Frequenz of tourists, breath taking isalnds with lonesome beaches, warm water, unique divespots. But: the tourism its growing and i Hope personale not to much. Then, the Region lives from the unique experience with the nature!
The Backpacker finds here his accommodation as well as the noble Tourist.

We visited Palawan in the year 2012 at the Microtel at Puerto Princesa. The Hotel is simply but clean and with some comfort like aircon as well. In the Town Leads a free Shuttle bus wich is very convenient.


Very nice is the Honda Bay. There are several noble resorts. A couple of years a go some tourists gets kidnappend by the AbuSayyaf group. Since then i didn't heard about an other  issue anymore. Hopefully it was the last time...

If you visit the Honda Bay rent a Boat and make a guided one day Island hopping tour. Visit the Snake Island and cherrish the freshly grilled Fish...

In Puerto Princesa itself you will find the famos Lakers Hill. A German Baker kreativ there a Garden landscape with a fantastic View over the Honda Bay... Famos is also the always freshly bakes breath.

One of the  greates Tourist attraction is the Underground River. The River flows in a 2 Km long Underground with is up to 60 Meter high. Fantastic and a must See...

Chindonan Diver Resort

Wonderful nature, clean crystal clear water, thousands of fish. Shipwreck just 10 meters under water, visible for snorkeling. Lonesome islands blue water. This is a paradise and always will be.

Thank you to both Peats from Denmark at the wonderful Chindonan Resort. Recommended for all which prefer to make holidays in the pure nature. The kitchen is very clean and really 

delicious what the Resort offering as a daily changing buffet!

Disvorey Island Resort and Dive Center February 2018

Dieses Resort liegt nur einen Steinwurf von der Hauptinsel Busuanga entfernt. Das Inselchen heisst Dicanituan. Von Coron City führt ein Fahrdienst nach dem Resort. Fahrzeit ist ca. 10 Minuten. Rufen kann man das Boot von der Bar "Bluemoon" aus. Diese liegt nur ca 500 Meter vom Hafen entfernt und gehört Alan, dem selben Besitzer wie das Resort.

Alan ist ein Brite durch und durch und pflegt das Resort mit vollem Einsatz und hervorragend ausgesuchtem Personal. Die geben sich enorm Mühe und haben immer ein lächeln auf den Lippen.

Das Resort ist wunderbar gelegen und liegt unaufdringlich eingebettet in der Natur. Es gibt bescheidenen Luxus wie Klimaanlage in einem der Häuser. In den Bungalows gibt es nur Ventilator. Also Vorsicht beim Buchen. 

Die Preise liegen im mittleren Bereich der Region und sind korrekt.

Das Restaurant ist sehr gut und bietet auch für den verwöhnten Europäer genügend Auswahl an guten Speisen. Sonst kann man natürlich auch mit dem Fährboot nach Cordon zum Essen.

This resort is just a stone's throw from the main island of Busuanga away. The islet is called Dicanituan. From Coron City a boat service leads to the resort. Travel time is about 10 minutes. You can call the boat from the bar "Bluemoon". This is only about 500 meters from the port away and belongs to Alan, the same owner as the resort.

Alan is a British thoroughbred and maintains the resort with full dedication and superbly-selected staff. They make an enormous effort and always have a smile on their faces.

The resort is wonderfully located and unobtrusively immersed in nature. There is modest luxury like air conditioning in one of the houses. In the bungalows there is only fan. So be careful when booking.

Prices are in the middle of the region and are correct.

The restaurant is very good and offers for the spoiled Europeans enough choice of good food. Otherwise you can of course with the ferry to Cordon to eat.

Im Februar hatten wir traumhaftes Wetter. Leicht bewölkt, aber schön genug um das Blau des Meeres geniessen zu können. Abends ging immer ein mässiger Wind. Dieser sorgte für Kühlung im Sommer.

Im Septemer 2016 hatten wir viele Regentage und mussten die Touren genau planen.

Allerdings ist im Februar das Chinesische Neujahr. Das Resort war ständig ausgebucht mit kurzreisenden aus China. Es hat auch viel mehr Touristen in der gesamten Gegend also im September.

Im Discovery Island betreibt ein Schweizer eine Tauchbasis. Besonders empfehlenswert sind die Schiffswrack Touren. Ebenso fährt ein grösserers Schiff mehrere Tage in entfernter gelegene Riffs.

Island Hopping ist sehr empfehlenswert und zeigt atemberaubende Landschaften:

In February we had fantastic weather. Partly cloudy, but nice enough to enjoy the blue of the sea. In the evening there was always a moderate wind. This provided cooling in the summer.
In Septemer 2016 we had many rainy days and had to plan the tours exactly.
However, February is the Chinese New Year. The resort was always fully booked with short period travelers from China. It also has a lot more tourists throughout the area so in September.

At Discovery Island, a Swiss operates a dive center. Especially recommended are the shipwreck tours. Similarly, a larger ship rides several days in remote riffs.

Island hopping is highly recommended and shows breathtaking landscapes:

Batangas, Luzon, Philippines

Batangas its a quite big region south of Manila and even south of our home. This is the nearest destination for us from Nuvali to drive to the coast... Without traffic we can reach this coast of the south China Sea in 2 Hours with the car. Therefore, tourists from the capital can reach Batangas from 2 sides. So, on Weekends and also if the holidays in the schools starts the places are crowded. Then rest of the time you are sometimes nearly alone :).

This year we went three times at Batangas. There its a very nice Resort, called: Pico de Loro (Vogelschnabel). The Resort its not that cheap but very clean, separated from the roads very convenient. Its a higher class Resort with many condominiums which are rented out from the owners to tourists.  For singles and couples its the Hotel Pico Sands better. Average Price its around CHF 100.-- per room. The rooms are clean and big. The Hotel belongs to the higher class. They have a great swimming pool landscape which its open until 09:00 pm.

Pleas note, that after 10:00 pm the most facilities are closed. You can still order drinks on the Bar 24 hours to a low pice for Europeans.

On the beach

The first time this year we went at a Condominium with the Family of my wife. It was a very nice time with family bonding as well. We where on a nice island hopping trip too.
