Tagaytay, where the Volcanos meets you...
20 Kilometers away from our home its Tagaytay. The Town lays in a higher region directly in front of the Tall Volcanos. The situation about the Taal Volcanos is a bit complicated to understand :). There are Volcanos on the Volcano and a Volcano inside. Ups... The big lake (Tall Lake) its a Volcano itself. Very big as you can see on the pictures. The Island its the real Tail Volcano with buildings on the Island. In the front you can see the anak Tall (Kinde des Tall). Which its not the main Volcano. The Tall Volcano is active as you can read in Wikipedia for those who are interested in.
Tagaytay its a center of recovery and food for many people. Along the road are left an right one restaurant after an other one. The pictures above are taken from one of these restaurants all with Filipino food. Some Restaurants offer a fantastic view to the Volcanos. You can reach Tagaytay from Metro Manila in hours. So, many times Tgaytay and the roads to this place are overfilled. Normally from our home we can reach Tagaytay in just 40 Minutes. On the Dezember 25. this year we where over 11 hours in the car. Only for the last 2 Km back from Tagaytay we had 2 hours! For an European inconcelvably. For a Filipino just normal! So be careful about the time you are on the road in the Philippines!!
The economic boom in the Philippines takes also affect in Tagaytay. They build one high tower after a other one. And this looks so:
Unfortunately really not nice! But you can not stop it! But at the moment, Tagaytay its still worth a travel. But how long?
